The FIS Para Alpine Skiing World Cup Comes to Méribel
This January, Méribel is set to host an extraordinary winter sports moment that’s sure to captivate both ski enthusiasts and resort visitors alike. From 26–30 January 2026, the resort will welcome the FIS Para Alpine Skiing World Cup, marking the very first time this prestigious competition comes to our slopes.
Para alpine skiing is one of the most dynamic, inspiring disciplines in winter sport — athletes with varying physical abilities race down challenging courses with incredible speed, precision, and skill. It’s not just a competition; it’s a celebration of athletic excellence, resilience, and sheer adrenaline. The world’s top para skiers will descend on Méribel’s legendary Corbey racecourse, offering spectators four days of powerful performances right in the heart of the Alps.
What’s On and Why It’s Unmissable
Across the event week, you’ll get to see a range of thrilling ski disciplines on display:
- Slalom challenges — short, tight, technical runs that push racers to the limit.
- Giant slalom battles — longer runs with sweeping turns and high stakes.
Each day’s racing culminates in award ceremonies at the finish area, celebrating incredible achievements on snow. Whether you’re an avid ski fan or a first-time spectator, the mix of speed, skill, and heart-pounding action makes this an unforgettable experience.
Best of all? It’s free to watch, and all the action takes place right at the foot of the slopes in Méribel Chaudanne — making it perfect to enjoy between runs or after a morning on your own skis.
Tips for Enjoying the Event
If you’re planning to be in town during the World Cup stage, here are a few suggestions to make the most of it:
- Arrive early to catch the racers warming up and inspect the course.
- Dress warm and grab a café-au-lait or hot chocolate — cheering on racers in the crisp alpine air is a memorable way to start the day.
- Bring a camera: the Corbey finish area buzzes with atmosphere and offers great photo opportunities.
